OCASA College Prep (6-9) COVID-19 FAQ

July 17, 2020

Dear OCASA Families,

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced in a press conference today that schools in some counties across the state must remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All schools in the more than 30 counties, who are currently on the state's COVID-19 monitoring list, will not be able to physically reopen their doors at the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. The County of Orange is listed on the COVID-19 monitoring list. Therefore, all private and public schools in Orange County, including OCASA Charter and OCASA College Prep, will be 100% distance learning until further notice.

We will not be allowed to return to in-person instruction until after Orange County is removed from the state’s monitoring list for fourteen (14) consecutive days. As a result, OCASA will reopen schools only when Orange County meets these safety requirements.

I believe you will have many questions and concerns about what the return of OCASA EN CASA will look like.  Our team is actively working on finalizing plans.  We will hold another round of Parent Forums in the coming weeks to keep you informed of our progress.

Rest assured we will be 100% ready for your students to start online with us on August 18, 2020.

Thank you,
